Handler - DirectLinkGenerator
DirectLinkGenerator handler automatically generates a link to the data card where it is used which can be sent to other user e.g. in E-mail. In addition, you can include the handler in a data card with EntityStateMailHandler and AutoMailSenderHandler to attach the link to a service desk reply. In order to access the data card, user must have Efecte-account and be logged in.
With attribute metadata, you specify the base URL for Matrix42 which generates correct link and you can also specify how the data card presents the link. Notice that user must have Matrix42-account and must be logged in to see the contents of the data card. If the link is opened when not logged in, data card is opened after logging in.
DirectLinkGenerator can also be used in mails: AutoMailSender, EntityStateMail and Events
The following tables provide information on the attribute settings and metadata requirements for DirectLinkGenerator handler. Compulsory metadata is provided in a Required attribute metadata table including proposals for possible metadata values. Accordingly, optional metadata is presented in a corresponding table.
Links and the User Interface
DirectLinkGenerator links follow each user's interface setting, so you can send the same link to everyone and each person lands in the interface they use. When a user opens a link, the platform checks the user's default interface and opens the data card in Agent UI or in the Classic UI accordingly.
- If Agent UI is the user's default interface, the link opens the data card in Agent UI. The default comes from the user's profile setting. If the user has not set a preference, the platform setting
agent.ui.as.defaultapplies. - If the Classic UI is the user's default interface, the link opens the data card in the Classic UI.
- Users who do not have Allow Classic UI use in any of their roles always open the link in Agent UI.
- Administrators are not an exception. An administrator whose default interface is Agent UI opens the link in Agent UI and can use the switch button in the header bar to move to the Classic UI if the button is turned on.
You do not need to change existing DirectLinkGenerator attributes or the links already sent in emails. Setting names and availability can change between versions.
